  1. I think its very nice there.

    many things to do

    hope you have fun!

  2. VN is safe but you have to bring some medicine for your 3 years old child because Vn weather is humit and hot. raining alot too. for adult is ok, but for lid i am afriad they take time to adapt with.

everything is cheap in local place and people is so nice. but be aware pick pocket and your wife handbag.

As many countries in the world some bad guy are lazy to work so they rob property from people.

Go to Mui Ne Beach, it is so beautiful, Nha Trang Beach, Phu Quoc Island, and nice weather is Dalat. This place s for you to relax. they are so beautiful.

Saigon cities is crowed people but alot of fun.

Have a great trip! I will come back there on Nov 2008

  3. my very best friend is vietnamese and we were going to live there and although my friend convinced me it was a great place we checked up any way and of any where in the world vietnam has the least crime, the least violence of any country and the people although dont speak english are friendly and willing to make friends why didn't we go to live there, my wife has cancer it would not be possible to travel

    so yes go for it

  4. omg yes!!

u should totally bring ur 3 years old son and wife here.

there are tons of place to visit all around vietnam.

u can take ur family to ho chi minh city, and if u know someone there, u can get them to bring ur wife to "Ben Thanh Market" it is a famous market in Saigon aka Ho Chi Minh City. There are also museum and things u can all go and visit. mayb u can bring ur family to the zoo here. but it is not like in america. it is not super clean and all that.

or u can take ur family to HANOI, the capital city of vietnam. u can go visit around places there, im not sure wat there is to do there coz i live in HCMC not hanoi. from hanoi, u guys can cacth a local bus (not recommended), or a bus for tourist, or just rent a car and driver (check out the taxi brands there, they usually rent cars and driver.. im not sure about prices, u can check). then u can go up to HA LONG BAY, there, u can rent a boat, and go out and visit all the beautiful caves there..

After visiting HCMC and HANOI ( a must)..

u can visit PHAN THIET/NHA TRANG - (beaches)

these places are basically the beach-y places. like florida and all.

here, u can stay at a resort and i recommend (BAMBOO VILLAGE)

i more then garantee, u will like phan thiet and bamboo village.

Nha Tranh, is a bigger city.. but is a longer ride then phan thiet from HCMC. it is too, nice like Phan Thiet.

u can also visit Dalat.. it is also known as the "VALLEY OF LOVE"

it is very nice there, cool tempurature, quiet cold at night. but at this time of the year. it is raining abit. so could be quiet cold.

there, u can visit the old houses, the "love valley" and the big ponds. there, for a good foreign restuarant, i recomment "V cafe" and "cafe de la post" or something along that line in french. (i suck at french sorry).

    also, there is HOI AN..

it is the old city of vietnam. the houses and buildings there are old chinesse style from long ago.

u should visit "OLD TOWN HOI AN" when ur in hoi an. ..

near HOI AN, therer would be HUE and DA NANG.. they are also cities but im not sure wat is there to do in DA NANG and HUE.

but in da nang, u can go rock climbing and it is very fun.

thats all i can think of rght now.

    hope i help.

(sry, i didnt mention much things for ur 3 year old son too do, hope u guys enjoy ur visit to vietnam if ur coming here. there are lots of foreigner here.)

    :) ♥

need anything else, research on VIETNAM on google, and use key words like tourism in vietnam. places to visit in vietnam and so on.. good luck :)

  5. Every thing you say in your question is correct.  The only advice i would give is,try to avoid the cities. I live in Nha Trang, its on the coast and has a lovely beach, my grandson came last year,he was 2 and had a wonder full time, if he ever got to hot and bothered i just played with him at the waters edge.

  6. Well , it is such a strange ques I have ever received . In my opinions, Vietnam is okay , a little polluted or extremely polluted some places, ...etc but there r many people bring their family to live and work here . I am working in an air ticket agency and realize there r many foreigners with their family living here coz I often have to scan their passorts to save in the profile . I have never come to Thailand before, but I saw it is richer and stronger in comparison with VN regarding many fields . But I dont think VN is not really good enough for a baby living than Thai . So just try n decide .

  7. You've already got some excellent answers - buts here my opinion.

Yes Vietnam is okay for a 3 year old, but as someone else says take the essentials with you as outside of the big 2 cities its quite hard to get things you take for granted in other parts of the world (including Thailand).

Hanoi is excellent for 3 or 4 days, but stay at one of the out of town hotels such as the Novotel, Sofitel or Sheraton as they are more kid friendly than the local city centre hotels (the expensive InterCon & Sofitel Metropole being the exceptions).

Do go down to Hoi An (fly from Hanoi to Danang - then 40 min transfer). Though depends on what time of year as to how long you stay (Jun - Sep is best time).

Saigon is a big polluted city, not great for kids. The best beaches are in Phan Thiet (4 hours road from Saigon). Some excellent hotels good for kids - Coco Beach hotel being my fav.

  8. HI We were in hoi an in june for 11nts and really enjoyed it ,so we are going back on the 5th sept to ho chi minh then to na trang then to hanoi the to cambodia to siem reap ,v/nam is so big you are best to go to a couple of places

I think its a lot better the bkk & pattaya ( been 6 times to both)and a lot cheaper .I am not sure what there is for a 3 year old but most hotels have swimming pools

The food in cambodia was the best we have ever had ,thats why we are going back !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
