  1. Find a good broker with good prices and a good platform.

Figure out what kind of trading you going to do.

Go to amazon.com and buy you some books on stock trading. Also go to youtube.com and look for tutorials like these ones http://www.youtube.com/user/InformedTrad... Checkout this site to also to learn terms www.investopedia.com its great. Learn technical anlaysis and fundamental analysis. Technical alaysis is reading charts and stuff and fundamental analysis is look at the company gross earnings and stuff. Learn about trends. Last but most helpful try to see if you can take any classes but its not required.

  2. I recommend an online brokerage firm that has good beginner qualitys {like tutorials or an easy to understand set up}, i use zecco, better then schwab, etrade, etc. they are the only ones with free stock trades, no minumums..all the others will charge you fees for trading, but compare and see for yourself. Good luck and happy investing!

  3. If you are interested in buying or selling stocks in the US market, you will first need to acquire the appropriate knowledge.  Read some books and check out some online tutorials.  My favorite web resource is Investopedia ( http://www.investopedia.com/ ).  It's a great website to learn about the stock market and investing in general.

When you're ready to start investing, you will need to open a brokerage account. I would recommend an online discount broker because they're a lot cheaper than full-service ones. I currently use Firstrade ( http://www.firstrade.com/ ). They are cheaper than big name brokers such as Scottrade, Etrade, Ameritrade, and Schwab. Their customer service is excellent and their website is very easy to use. I've been with them for quite awhile now and have not had any problems at all. I would definitely recommend them to you.

I would not recommend using Zecco. Their 10 free trades a month deal requires a minimum deposit of at least $2,500. Plus, their website is very hard to use, definitely not for beginners.

  4. You better know what you're doing, why you're doing it and how to do it.

You should a very good working knowledge of the markets and the securities traded in such markets.

Before anyone goes into the market, especially as a trader you must have the following in place

1- A written sound trading/investment plan with rules that will not only help you but more importantly protect you, mostly from yourself.

2 - Sufficient trading/investment capital.  Use your own money, there’s no need to go into debt so that you trade/invest.

3 - A written money management program in place.

4 – A full and complete understanding of the rules & regulations of the industry

If you don't have all of the above, you will never be a successful trader.
