I would like to know if anyone has had any issues with these vehicles (engine, transmission, automatic, and manuel). Particularly on those with over 100k miles. Also if there are any suggestions on places to purchase and any suggestions on aftermarket equipment. Thanks.

  1. avoid at all cost

expensive to own, parts and labor are outrageous.

    terribly unreliable

  2. That is racist.  We do NOT like being called, "Land Rover" people.  The correct terminology is. "Terrain Exploring Carbon Units."

  3. My father in law had a Land Rover.  They are amazing vehicles and are made great.  But I wouldn't buy any vehicle that has over 100K miles on it, especially something like a Land Rover.  Most Land Rovers have been driven hard...they are meant to go through mud, drive on huge rocks and get through some hard core stuff.  If you can find one with even 75K or maybe even 50K then definitely go for it.  Just know that buying a used Land Rover is a hard situation because you don't know what kind of terrain it has been through.  Always look up on carfax.com the vin number and that way you can see if there was any reported damage.  Again though, amazing vehicle but try to get one with fewer miles.  100K is high enough on any vehicle, especially one that is made for rough riding.

  4. The 3rd answer was good, but they forgot to mention the horrible reliability of the electronics. British-made vehicles are known to have problems in this area, and Land/Range Rovers are no exception. Don't buy it! You'll be sorry if you do. As was said before, any vehicle with over 100,000 miles on it is going to have issues, and some can be very expensive.
