  1. Like some people already said, ski blades are only good for "ski ballet" and skating-style tricks that don't require any speed.  They aren't any good for actually trying to ski on anything more than groomed, mild blue runs.

If you skid all your turns, ski blades won't be all that different in terms of control.  In fact, the reduced swing weight will make them seem more maneuverable

The problem with them is that they're so short, so 1) there is no stability at even moderate speed, 2) your boot occupies so much of it that it's almost pointless trying to flex the blades into anything like a carved turn, and 3) they're so short any fore-aft weight shifts (like you would use to engage an edge in carving) will either send you on butt or on your face.  In other words, they are only good if you prefer to ski at a crawl, and skid your turns.

    Personally, I don't like them.

  2. Yes definitely, get some. I love mine. I've had them for a few years and I alternate them with my skis, I don't prefer them, I love both, but they are good for practising better balance or Just great fun, if nobody's around i pirouette down the mountain. Taking them to Transylvania on saturday.

    Still keep your skis

  3. The duck has a pretty good answer. If you are already a skier, then you will probably find that blades are slower, and have less control, than skis. About all that they are good for is cute little tricks.

Each to their own though. I would try a pair first, before buying.

  4. fruit booter is what we call em. Yes buy a pair I love to laugh at you guys. I'm using guys loosely because if your on those things you have lost your balls.

  5. i used them once and it was so much fun. but i had never skiied before and was used to ice skating from playing hockey so it was easy adjustment for me. i dont know if an advanced skiier would like them as much as i did. i would try them out first before i bought them to make sure.

  6. i think they are so much fun!  there are so many things that you can do on the blades.  if you are an experienced skiier, you should learn to use the blades quickly.  you may want to blade a couple of days and ski a couple of days.  enjoy!

  7. If you want to be a GAPER, then yes, purchase those ski blades, while you are at it make sure you get a Oklahoma sweatshirt to wear while you are ski blading.

What is the hardest part of skiing on ski blades?????????

Telling your parents you are g*y!!!

  8. People who have them love them and will rave about them but they aren't that great.  They will say they aren't dangerous but they are just lucky.

They are pretty much only good for doing skating type tricks and "snow ballet."   Also they can help you with balance but it is better just to use a pair of really short skis.

    ONE MAJOR PROBLEM WITH SNOWBLADES!!:

If you have the ones with fixed bindings then you are risking a really bad tiba-fibula fracture.  I work at a ski area and have seen some really nasty leg injuries with them.
