I was thinking of buying it for my 5 year old daughter to ride around the farm on, in our Winter Home in the South of France.

  1. he was recently a racing horse, so will your child be able to handle it?  even though he is retired they can want to go fast especially when cantering.

also, he is $150,000.  for a horse just for your kid to ride around the farm, do you really need such an expensive horse?

maybe consider a cheaper horse dead broke for kids and get a more expensive horse later on if you child still shows an interest later in life (like a nice show horse she can help to perfect and show)

i forgot to check, but is this horse a stallion?  if he is he might be extremely hard to handle - especially a 5-year old kid.

be sure to get a vet to do a prepurchase exam as well.  go and test the horse out.  first you ride it, then if you're comfortable with it, let your kid ride it.

best of luck and happy trails!

  2. Is this a serious question?!??!?!?!?!?!

For real now, 150K for a 5 yr old's back yard horse??? HA! you must have alot of money to throw around..... and a stallion??? pretty sure you may be on crack in that case.

Why would you want to ship a horse from Alabama to the South of France?? that cost would be rediculous as well.

To answer your question, yes its a good lookin' horse... but ALLLL WRONG for what you want him for.

  3. No No No No Absolutley not!!!

A Thoroughbred Stallion is probably the single worst horse to buy for a child! Stallions are very unpredictible and can be aggressive when they are near mares. That horse is meant for breeding! He should not be bought just as a riding horse!!!

  4. are you kidding?

    how big is it?

why do you want a stallion they can be very temperamental and dangerous!

this is a 5 year old! she needs a quiet little plod that has been ther and seen it all before.

  5. absolutely not!

for a five year old you need a smaller pony that is what is known as "bomb proof" or "dead broke" stallions tend to be VERY spooky and highstrung and can be VERY dangerous, also Thoroughbreds have a TON of energy and can be very spunky. You def need to look up about horses. get her a gelding they are the best to handle, stallions are spirited and mares are spirited and moody, get a gelded pony. or even a quarter horse. It sounds like you don't have too much horse experience, find somebody that does and get info from them. also don't just get a horse offline, you need to go meet the horse and its owner. watch the owner ride the horse inside and outside the pen and see how easily he can control it, also YOU test ride it. check its diet, how it interacts with other horses and strangers. but def don't get this horse for a 5 yr old. this is a horse stud and by "easy to handle" it means easy to handle for a stallion. and that isn't so "easy" for beginners

    hope this helps

  6. Go for it cowboy, you know what they say about a fool and his money.

  7. LMAO. This is right up there with "can my cripple horse jump" and "is my horsie colicking" questions. It has to be a joke, so I'll indulge you.

Sure your baby girl can gallop and race this sucker over those beautiful hills at your second home in France. It's also a great idea to let her hang off his tail when he's at a full charge so she can feel that flying "weeeeeeeeeee" feeling. Let her brush him and take him to the mares. Heck, I'd even let her help you hand breed him. Afterwards, the horse, your daughter, and all her beautiful french dollies can sit down in the meadow and have tea. It's also a great idea to let her use him as a jungle gym, and let her crawl and make tunnels up under him and climb his legs like a little monkey.

I hope she enjoys her new horsie.

LMAO Gallop- gotta tell us how he does! ;)

  8. It's a horse all right.  Go for it.

  9. Beautiful horse.. But I'd suggest a boom-proof gelding pony. Stallions can be very fiery, so it wouldn't be the ideal choice.

Especially if she is a beginner..

  10. my family has a thoroughbred ranch and we love them so much that one is really pretty buy him!

    :)

  11. haha yes but dont forget to get her a unicorn also!

guys calm down she's joking. obviously shes not going to buy a $150,000 TB stallion for her 5 year old in the south of france! shes making fun of how little kids get ponies when they aren't experienced enough!

  12. If you're going to take the mickey, make it believable!

That horse isn't even for sale, it's for stud!

  13. i think thats alot of money to be spending on a 5 year old to ride...thats a really nice horse tho....i live near where this horse is at...

  14. I think this horse would give your daughter a really thrilling ride and experience. This could lead your daughter to a career in Roody Riding. Also it could lead your daughter to a fracture clinic.

    Have fun!

  15. NO!

    1. STALLIONS ARE EXTREMLY HARD TO HANDLE.

    2. HE IS NOT A RIDE FOR FUN HORSE.

    3. YOU COULD PUT YOUR DAUGHTERS LIFE ON THE LINE.

STALLIONS ARENT FOR BEGINNERS. NOT ONLY IS HE A STALLION HE IS A THROUGHBRED STALLION. THEY HAVE A LOT OF ENERGY. AND IN BREEDING SEASON HE WILL BECOME EXTREMELY MEAN. AND WILL NOT BE ABLE TO BE BUT IN A PASTURE WILL A SINGLE MARE.

SO NO. TRY A LITTLE PONY.

  16. Here's my take on this whole thing: this is some guy trying to look "cool" and make everyone believe he's some rich big shot. Come on, who would seriously consider purchasing a TB STALLION for a FIVE YEAR OLD?? This is a joke, pay no attention.

  17. dont dont dont buy a stallion for anyone but a professional, especially a young girl.  They have more hormones than brains, also they are more teritorial than geldings or mare. there are plenty of wonderful horses that will be better suited for you and your daughter's needs.

  18. Uh huh, sure you were.

That horse isn't even for sale, it's an ad for stud service.

  19. ABSOLUTLEY NOT!!!!!

i've been in the racehorse buisness for a long time and tb stallions are VERY agressive,   get an aged horse, like in its twenties, and don't spend a hundred and fifty thousand on it, a few thousand should do the job more than suffiecently

  20. I think it looks nice.

  21. Noooo. Absolutely not.

He's beautiful, but not the horse for your daughter. Do not even CONSIDER buying a stallion for a 5 year old. Stallions can be very dangerous - only experience riders should handle them. Also, thoroughbreds are high strung horses -- often very "hot." Unless it's an older and extremely calm thoroughbred, I would NOT put a little kid on one.

Go for a gelding under 14 hands for her. A 5 year old would do best on a broke trail horse - on the older side. Or a well-trained and bomb-proof pony.

  22. Its all good, as long as you want your daughter sereously injurd.

i mean, i stud. for your 5 year old daughter??

youve got to be kidding me.

    right..?

    ahh, this cracks me up.

I would start out with a gelding or mare pony.

not a huge tb stud >.<

thats up for stud not sale!!!

    people these days.

  23. yea u should get it looks ok beside its very cheap compare to the one i got for my boy cost half of million buddy

  24. he does look very nice. but if your buying him for a 5 year old you have to watch out for his stud temper. Stud horses are very nice but around mares they could get rowdy. I would suggest maybe an older type gelding

  25. IT PROBABLY HAS CANCER OR OTHER DESEASE. IF I WAS YOU I WILL GO TO A HORSE SHOP OR WHATEVER THEY CALL WHERE U BUY HORSES. AND CHECK ONE OUT WITH THE MEDICAL HISTORY AND EVERYTHING

  26. NOOOO, stallions CAN be very gently but for a 5 year old to ride? If you want something for you daughter to ride around the farm look at a pony, or a small horse. One that isn't a stallion. They can be very unpredictable, and I've seen some that are really mean.

  27. a stallion is NOT a good horse for a 5 yr to ride on, unless that child is a really advanced rider, which at 5 years, that would not be enough time to get that advanced, try a gelded pony or smaller horse that is gentle and safe

stallions are unpredictable (esp. if mares are in heat around him) and they can be very moody and nippy sometimes

  28. No no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

this has to be a joke.

Yeah, I want to buy a TB stallion for my 5 year old daughter. He's so per-dee :/

  29. You're too late.  I already bought him and my 4 year old grandson is eventing him right now.
