  1. To be honest I'm not totally sure, but I think you need to get in touch with Australia House, Whitehall, London (if you are in the UK anyway).

  2. A company called "the emmigration group" will do it nearly all for you---for a fee---they are specialists in going to oz and nz.

Their address is  5-6 Heritage court, Lower bridge street,

Chester.Get the number from 118 and have a chat with them. That will be free and might well get you started.                    Good luck

  3. Contact the Australian Embassy in your home country, and they can send you a migration information package.

  4. In order to permanently migrate here you need to qualify.  You need to either have skills that we are short of here (eg. some trades, nursing, medical or other paramedical, miners etc.), be highly educated,  be rich (business migration) or qualify as a refugee.  If you are over 45 or are sick it will be more difficult.  The Australian government has an immigration webite for more information (just google it).

If you are under 30, you can get a one year working visa.

You can get a student visa if you come here to study (as a full fee paying student).

  5. This is a very comprehensive website:

    www.immi.gov.au

Most people use migration agents, but you will not need one if you do everything as directed here. You can save money this way, but it is probably a good idea just to get some migration advice from them a couple of times.

I think the best way to achieve a resident status in Au is to apply through the skill migration scheme.

Basically, these are the three most important things:

    1. Qualifications & experience

    2. Age

    3. English (depending of your country of origin)

    All the best
