and I'm wondering what does it involve? is it extensively based on math and only math? Compared to architecture, do you have a say in the design, or are you mostly about the materials involved? [ do you stay up long nights just to finish a model?, which my sister does for her architecure major .lol]. In addition, is being a civil engineer rewarding and does it fulfill a more than decent lifestyle? is it fun? Lastly whats a good school in SoCal that has a good engineering program? any information you can provide will be much appreciated. thank you and god bless.

cuz i have no idea what i want to major in, but civil engineering seems promising. lol Once again thanks

  1. After 40 years working as a civil engineer, you would think I should be able to answer this question easily.

The Engineer and the Architect often work together in the planning stages to ensure that the building you are working on meets the function intended at best constructability.

I enjoyed most of my 40 years I worked in the business, I made  an extremely fine salary and now am enjoying my retirement in style.

I am not too familiar with SoCal schools but 40 years ago when I was in Graduate School Southern Cal at Berkley was one of the best in North America.

    Good Luck.

  2. Maths, drawing skills and an imagination of 3D construction is necessarily important for civil engineering
