I'm getting married in August and we are considering doing our honeymoon in Eleuthera. I know its hurricane season and rainy season...I'm curious to know how bad it would be. We have the chace to stay at a friend of a friends house for the week so it would be a hugh savings. But if its non stop rain I'd rather just forget about it. Any advice would be great...Thank You!

  1. Here is an interesting website.  A couple moved to the island from Europe and have set up a website about Eleuthera.

Alot of good information, just click some of the links.

September is the month that rains the most in the Caribbean. I have been in the Bahamas in August and it didn't rain on my vacation during the day but it was hot. The rain passed quick when it did rain.

check out the link and good luck)

    New details:

sorry the link doesn't work, it seems there is some kind of yahoo glitch. Just copy link to your browser.

  2. I think the Weather Channel website can tell you the weather for different locations/seasons.  Or do a search on "Bahamas weather"; that should bring up something.

August is indeed hurricane season, so you never know whether there will be one at your vacation spot or not.  You have to decide whether it's worth it to take a chance.

  3. Hay i from freepot, grand bahama and i go their every summer and it is always raining so i would say go in september where it is sunny and warm with low chances of rain. Have a good trip and enjoy the beautiful bahamas!!!:-)
