  1. It depends which country you are coming from. Some countries have agreements with Australia as far as short working visas. You best bet is to check with the closest Australian consulate in your country. You will have to go through them to get your visa anyway. Your friend's age maybe an issue unless they have qualifications in certain skilled professions. Check out the link below

  2. Working visas are hard to get here. Especially for a year. You need to have the right qualifications to get a working visa. Check our immigration site for more info.   http://www.immi.gov.au/immigration.htm

  3. Working holiday visas are easy to get, but they're only available for 18 - 30 year olds. Your friend may be able to stretch it a bit by applying just before she turns 31 and she then must enter Australia within 12 months of the visa grant date. It depends on exactly when her birthday is in relation to when you want to come. All the information you need is here:

http://www.immi.gov.au/visitors/working-... (for applicants from the UK, Ireland and a number of other countries - full list accessible from the above page)

  4. What you need is a Working Holiday visa.  It is only available to people from certain countries and there are conditions.  See this website:

    http://www.workpermit.com/australia/temp...

Unfortunately your friend will be too old at 32 to get one of these.  Getting any other type of working visa for Australia is very tough, you have to jump through a lot of hoops and they will probably still say no unless you are skilled in a very small amount of jobs.

We did the working holiday visa thing when we went to Oz and found it really easy.  You apply online before you go (you can only get this visa OUTSIDE of Australia, don't just turn up at the airport and ask for one!) and then you find your nearest government office to get the permit put into your passport.

When we went you could only stay in the job for a max of 3 months at one time, but we were moving around a lot so it didn't matter.

Hope you have a great trip.

  5. sorry anyone over 30 is not eligible for a working holiday visa

  6. You never too old to get a visa. As for getting your visa I honestly have no idea, you would have to get a working visa not a holiday visa. If you need any info on any aussie places let me know!

  7. If you're heading to Oz, don't forget to follow the yellow brick road, stay away from the munchkins (they're scary) and wear your red shoes so you can go home.....
