  1. yes college credits will give you a step up, the best way to find out exactly is to go talk to a recruter or to, have you pick which branch your looking to join, if not talk to a couple of them, ask them as many question as you can.  Good Luck.

    USMC Vet.

  2. Yes, it helps big time.  If you want to be an officer join the ROTC program, but if you'd rather be enlisted(which i'd recommened.)  It doesn't help to after training but you well start out as an E-3, nice little pay-raise and your not just a private accept for basic.  Good luck.

  3. Well i am speaking for the Army. If you have a Bachelor's Degree you can come in Enlisted and as an E4. If you have a Masters Degree then you can come in as an officer (second leiutenent). Anything lower then a Bachelor's Degree you will come in as an E3. Then anyone you refer into the Army now that you have the rank of E3, you can earn up to $2K per person.

What State are you located in? I am a recruiter.

  4. Absolutely.  Talk to your recruiter about signing a delayed contract that will pay you an E-5 pay while you finish your undergrad, then you can join as an officer.  You're so close it would be silly not to.  You'll owe them at least double the years they paid you to go to school, so if they pay you to go to one year, you'll be obligated for a minimum of two but the minimum first term is longer than that so I don't know how that would be affected; if it would be in addition to the initial obligation.  Air Force Rules!

  5. i think the military is great one of the best things that my husband done is joining the army there are so many benefits but you should probably wait to join until you are done with school then you could probably get a better rank

  6. Seriously think again and again about ever enlisting! The military is the last possible thing you need to think about! Living your life not offering it to the likes of gwb makes a lot more sense! I am certain you have more going for you than throwing your life away with the military. Did you see the latest news about the number of women that are raped in the military, and that is by military men that are professional doctors! Think twice before ever going in that direction!

  7. yes, if you have a certain amount of college credits, then you will enter as an E-2, if going toward the enlisted side

  8. I recommend you talk to an Officer recruiter, complete your degree and join as an officer. Be a leader.

  9. Absolutely!

If you have a bachelors you can join as an Officer and go to OCS (officer candidate school)

if you join before your degree you will go in as enlisted, and that means alot less money, alot less say-so around the base. you will get a few promotions for all the credit, probably boosting you up to E-4 if you join at the beginning of your senior year.

Id definitely look at your officer recruiter for your local college, set up an appointment, and talk to him about why you want to join.
