  1. You're getting very close to the age cut-off point of 45, so you have only a limited time to get your visa application in. Fortunately, Fibrous and Solid Plasterer are both on the Migrant Occupations in Demand List (MODL) which provides both priority processing and the higher points that you will need to compensate for low age points.

Even though you've been running your own company, it's very important that you apply as a tradesman plasterer rather than as a supervisor. Plasters are on the MODL and get the benefits that it brings and supervisors aren't on there and you will be pushing to qualify at all as a supervisor plasterer. Once you get here, you will be able to start your own company or work as a supervisor if you wish, but get here first before you bring that into the equation.

    See:

  2. Fibrous Plasterer and Solid Plasterer are on The Migration Occupations in Demand List (MODL) if that helps you. - http://www.workingin-australia.com/info/...

You will need to see Immigration for Australia - http://www.immi.gov.au to see if your family qualifys.

There is an Expo for Australia coming up - "Change your life and move to Australia!  See if there is one in your area soon...

Find your job at the Opportunities Australia Expo." see details http://www.expo-australia.com  - They state job offers are made at these expos for the skilled workers and they can also fast track your applications.

Other sites for EXPO’s are “Australia Needs Skills Recruitment Expos”  - http://www.immi.gov.au/skillexpos/index....

Another great website is "How to Live in Australia" - it's a Step-by-step guides to procedures and paperwork...

http://www.justlanded.com/english/austra... is a great guide that explains things in simple terms, applying for visas, working or as an international student etc…

    Good Luck

  4. The first thing you need to check on is a trade licence.

Many trade people arrive and find they have to start at the bottom for a while, whilst they organise the correct licence.

I am not sure about Plasterers, but look at this: http://www.immi.gov.au/asri/occupations/...

Changing from running a successful company, of any kind, to a new start, even in the same trade, is a very difficult thing to do.  It is just like starting again,  I have done exactly that myself.  It can be very hard, but IF you want to do it, then it may be worth it.

Many people come to Australia with the idea of relaxing a bit, and it is very possible to do that.  But, if you want to build a business again, then in all honesty, try to remember what it was like starting your current one in the first place, to give you an idea of what it may be like again.

Your husbands age is cutting it very fine though.
