Thinking of moving to Marbella area...any advice???

Im a 34yr old mother of 2 kids (ages 5yrs + 3mnths) & am thinking of moving to Spain along with my husband.

My parents reside most of the yr in Nuevo Andalucia and id like to go round that area also, as ive been going there to see them regularly for the past 5yrs, know my way round now and love it.

As theyre fairly near to Puerto Banus, its quite pricey...we only have about £130,000 GBP to spend on a home.

So questions are:

1) What areas wld u recommend not too far from P.Banus, where we cld afford a place for 130k, where we cld integrate with both expat communities and also fit in with the locals too?

2)Hows the job market in this area?

(My partner is thinking abt getting into tiling as he has his own flooring business. i have a degree in interior design but have also had it suggested that getting into teaching English would be good?)

3) I hear the fees at Aloha College are pretty steep, is there any state fund schools available to ex-pats?

Any advice and tips greatly appreciated!

  1. My only peice of advice is wait a short while for the housing market to deliver cheap houses, because Spanish Costas are suffering a crash right now.  I think youd get a property for £130k no problem.  There are lots of areas to consider anywhere between P banus and Fuengirola/Torremolinos.

  2. do what you want to do as long as you will be happy discuss it with your husband ive been to spain alot ive been to palm its realli nice there is loads of restaurants or shops or cafes you could work in as long as you got eachother and you will be happy
