Thinking of moving to brisbane in next couple of years or sooner is it as good as they say (NEVER BEEN)?

i am a ford trained car mechanic and fed up working in rip off britain (scotland) dont get me wrong its a lovely place.i have wife and 3 kids and want to come to oz (life time dream) is it as good as the brouchers show it is. how is it for jobs (thinking of some where in brisbane as mechanic)my wife will graduate as a social worker soon also.are houses expensive,is weather nice,any info would be appreciated ,ie any web sites showing houses for sale ..thanks.........

go for it mate, just look at the state of this country, it`s not going to get any better, i think your family will be better for it; i lived and worked in france for 6 years, i came back here and regreted ever since.

yes . its grt. 1 tip .- live close to where you work .there is a lot of heavy traffic going in to the city because of a lack of infrastructure. weekends you ve got gold coast 45min sth sunshine coast 45 min north and great rainforest in the mountains. starting to come in to spring weather.

www.realestate.com.au is the best real estate site. Houses are very expensive as you will see. Absolute minimum of AU$275,000. On the positive side, Australia is experiencing record levels of employment so you won't have any trouble getting a job. Buy some decent sunglasses.

depends..a bit boring when you compare it to london/glasgow / manchester/ birmingham...BUT wonderful climate and friendly people...room to grow

suggest that you take a long holiday there and see
