I'm currently waiting for my exam results to go onto do my a levels this September but if i fail.. I feel my life's over sad as it may seem but i see education as my only way forward. That should make sense right? Anyways.. if don't pass i want to move to paris.. and hopefully be happier there.. Sound bad?

  1. sounds fun!  I think you should do it (even but for a year).  But the first few months will be like h**l.  Sorry, but it's true.  It's beautiful but extremely difficult to live in and make a life, meeting people is impossible (unless you just want to hang out with non-french - who are everywhere).  But eventually it all falls into place and it's ok.

French people are very nice but they dislike americans and prefer not to associate with them.  Some exceptions but generally this is true (I still don't know why).

  2. good luck :) if you do fail why not re-take or go to collage untill you get a couple of qualifications loads of people need to re-try frist and while your at collage you could even take french to help you. I think long term moving to France is prob a good idea (if you live in the UK cos we are only going downhill) but i wouldn't go to paris maybe somewhere else in france ,you could either go to univeristy their (cos of the union of the EU this is now alot easier) or go to an english univerisity and take a course which will let you go abroad to france for a year and then you could move their in the future good luck just don't give up not everyone passes first time.

  3. How old are you? Life over! Get a grip- worse things happening in the world. If you fail your exams you just take them again. Education is a way forward but not the be all and all- plenty of people lead good happy and fulfilling lives without any education.

  4. why not?? but French people are not as friendly as you guys fellow american . and very important : you have to speak french or at least a little they don't like to make efforts trying to understand you, so think again!

  5. Don't go, it's full of foreigners !

  6. you'll still need an education to live in Paris..so if you dont get your exams..re-take them!  you are right..education is the way forward.

anyway..my cousin sold up & went to live in France...he really is unhappy - but can not afford to move back - so think carefully..and good luck with your results honey..and dont worry so much!

  7. Sounds romantically absurd.  I live in France and can tell you that adjusting to the culture and the people (it's true that meeting French people is difficult) is very difficult.  Like the others, I would recommend you re-take your exams, and save Paris for vacations.  Now, if you had a job opportunity in Paris, that would be a different story.  But do you honestly know how difficult it is as a foreigner to work in this country legally?  And do your really want to risk working illegally?

  8. I'm french and you'd better go to other towns in france than paris...too much people, people doesn't worry about u there...I don't like that town; people have wrong ideas about that town.

sorry if my english is not perfect..
