Should I use a colored primer or not?

We did.  Then we had to use only one topcoat. Home Depot used to carry Ralph Lauren paints.  They may still.  Incredible selection of reds.

Yes. Lowe's and Home Depot will tint your primer to match your paint! Also if you ever want to paint your whole room a new color don't leave your ceiling white, add a few drops of the new color to your white paint and it will go perfectly!

YES! It will save you time in the long run. 2 coats vs. 4 or more. I'm sure all paint supply stores will tint your primer since more and more designs are including those beautiful tones for walls and ceiling. Good Luck. LT

yes you definitely need to do that, it takes more than 2 coats to obtain a proper finish.
