  1. Every cat is different so some cats like other cats and some don't. Try adopting an older cat from a shelter or Petsmart. Sometimes they even know the background of them if someone had to give them up and you can find out if they've lived with other cats before. Older cats will almost always already know how to use the littler box. A young kitten will just need to be shown the box several times. If they p**p outside the box you just scoop it up and put it in the litter and make sure the cat sees it there. They learn quickly. For a cat to know where it's home is (if you're making it indoor/outdoor) you will need to keep the cat inside completely for a month or two so you guys bond and the cat realizes you and that house are it's new home.

  2. 1.  Any shelter has lots of great cats.  2.  Most already know how to use a litter box naturally as long as they know where it is.  As far as where home is, they should be kept inside permanently if possible, and if they are to be outside at all, don't let them out until they are fully comfortable with their inside home (several weeks).  Then supervise the first visits outside and always have an escape route back into the house.  And cats must always be inside at night - no exceptions.  Some places are not good for outside cats - places with busy roads, roaming dogs or wild animals around (coyotes kill many cats where I live).  3.  Some cats like to be solitary, others prefer other cats.  Depends on the cat.

  3. 1. You can get them from the animal shelter where they will give you a certificate to have the cat spayed or neutered. You can get a cat from the newspaper people often are looking for homes for kittens or you can get one from a breeder.

    2. They will usually rub on things in and around their home to mark their scent then they will smell their mark and know they are home.

    3. Cats generally just want to use a litter box and will do it on their own other wise put them in the box when you think they have to go.

    4. Cats are fine to live with out other cats or with.

  4. Oh goodness. My fiancee's sister has two cats and let me tell you I'm going out of my mind! Some say cats are smart and dogs are stupid but I guarantee dogs make a better friend then a cat. I've come to realize that I HATE cats. Cats won't allow themselves to get trained.
