Question:

Thinking outside the box - Beach Theme?

Right, one of my themes for my GCSE coursework is 'the beach'. I think it would be good to choose a few aspects of the beach, rather than just have everything associated with the beach in my art book.

I have one or two ideas in mind, which are concentrate on fish and boats.

I'd like to do something a little different rather than just drawing different beaches and shells, which the majority of the class will be doing.

Does anyone have any other ideas which are in someway connected to the beach, on which I could work?

could you create the look of the sea with fabric, foil or celefane.

    a collage

fid artists that use the sea, for example abstract or landscape

    photography.

    storms at the beach

things you find at the beach.

    different surfaces

    rocks

you get ice creams at the beach!

    fish, crabs, seagulls?

    waves

    hope its been some help.

  2. Beach furniture? Old and modern. Deck chairs and umbrellas.

You can get some good effects if you mix powdered poster paint with that runny white PVA glue, it will give you lovely textures. Same if you mix sand in it too.

  3. Not all coastal beaches are for holidaymakers or fishermen - think of those associated with power stations for example - Dungeness springs to mind and the Garden that Derek Jarman created whilst living out his days before his death.

Heres a picture of a box that you may want to think outside: http://uk.images.search.yahoo.com/images...

  4. why not do it from the ''sea's'' point of view?......

a place for the sea to dispose of all its unwanted rubbish....check the link below, youll get the idea...good luck..
