I just purchased a new Thinkpad SL300 ( Intel 8400, 2.2Ghz, 4 gigs ram,Vista Business 32 bit, Centrino 2, Nvidia 128 meg.

I am in love with this laptop, however, it is annoying that as soon as I turn my laptop on the fans start to blow and never stop until I turn the laptop off.
The fans never get faster or slower, they are always at the same speed, no matter if it is on AC or battery. No matter if under power management I set it up for fan sound level at the minimum or maximum..... It is just always the same medium speed. The laptop runs really cool though.
I have read on the Thinkpad forums that many users of te SL series complain also about the fans that never cycle. However, Lenovo's support just told me that if the fans are on is ok......

I have Bios 1.12 installed on my laptop and the latest on the website is 1.08 go figure. On the other hand, all countries have 1.08 as the latest but Japan, which has 1.14 that is supposed to be newer than mine. Would it be ok to install it on mi laptop? My fear is that the instructions might be in japanese....

I also found this software, http://www.staff.uni-marburg.de/~schmitzr/donate.html , any idea if this would work in my laptop?

Thanks
