Third consecutive Tour de France crash for Tyler Farrar
Tyler Farrar had a disappointing start to his 2012 season and the cyclist’s French race got even worst since his crash during the stage 5 of the Giro d’Italia 2012.
It was the third consecutive crash for the cyclist at the Tour de France which has now ruined his chances at the race.
The American opened his 2012 winning account with a stage 2 victory at the Tour of Qatar and also secured a second overall position at the race.
He finished first during the stage 4 of the Giro d’Italia and finished third during the third stage of the race.
Schleck rode brilliantly during the Scheldeprijs and managed a second overall position after the race.
Team Garmin-Sharp’s Sports Director Allan Peiper has shown distress towards Farrar’s crash.
“He [Farrar] said last night that he was as low as he could go so if he was that low last night then it's difficult for him," Peiper noted.
"He's taken so much skin off, he's got burn marks all over his chest from tires from two days ago, then he's lost skin off his back yesterday”.
“He's only got one leg that was unhurt so I don't know how he's going to be tonight”.
“He's a tough and he's been breaking bones since he's been a kid but this might be too much for most people to survive".
Pieper cited that Tyler is going through a rough time in his life and it is mainly because he is trying too hard to get the results in his favour.
Team Garmin-Sharp is having a disappointing season and currently holds the 19th overall position after the Tour de France, stage 5 team’s classifications.
Team Sky is leading the classification with a healthy lead of four seconds on the second place holder, Team RadioShack-Nissan.
Team BMC holds the third position, with Team Omega Pharma-Quickstep and Team Liquigas-Cannondale holding the fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
Only time will tell, if the American manages to get his guts together for the coming stages of the French Grand Tour as he is now eyeing the 207.5 kilometre chase stage 6 of the race.
