Third leg of Pool A of 2012 CEV Volleyball European League Women to begin
The third leg of the 2012 CEV Volleyball European League – Women is set to start from today in the Spanish city of Granollers.
The matches are scheduled to be held over the weekend and will take a total of three days to complete after which four teams will be filtered out to be a part of the final four of the tournament.
The head coach of the Spanish team, Francisco Hervás, expressed his excitement at having the third leg of the tournament in his country by making the following comments, “We will have the chance to see some matches this weekend in which anything and everything
can happen, and this is exciting. We hope we can have positive results at home and that people coming to the sports hall to watch the games can enjoy the show. So far in this competition we have seen a team which has showed real superiority that is Serbia
and two teams like Romania and Hungary that have a similar level than ours; the Spanish national team will try to compete at its maximum.”
The Pool A of the third leg of the tournament consists of Serbia, Romania, Hungary as well as the home team. The four teams have been filtered out of the matches that were played in both Subotica, capital of Serbia as well as Budapest, the capital of Belgium.
The venue of the Pool A matches will be the Palau d’esports.
The top team in Pool A of the tournament is the Serbian squad with their impressive 6-0 record so far. On the other hand, the second position is being contested by the home team as well as the Romanians due to the fact that both the sides have come up with
a record of 3-3. The team that is at the bottom of the pool is Hungary, as they have not been able to muster even a single win in the entire tournament yet.
The final four of the tournament is scheduled to be played during July 5-6 while Karlovy Vary of the Czech Republic will be hosting the matches.
