Third seed Myrtille Georges blue rains on Anaeve Pain in quarterfinal - Loughborough Challenger 2011
Third seeded French Myrtille Georges whitewashed unseeded compatriot Anaeve Pain in the quarterfinal of the Loughborough Challenger 2011.
The two players took up the gauntlet on carpet courts of Loughborough University in
Loughborough, Great Britain. After one hour and fifty seven minutes the third seeded Frenchwoman trounced the unseeded compatriot in straight sets of 6-4, 6-3 on Friday the 11th of November 2011.
Initiating the first round of the match was Georges and she successfully held her serve to open the scoreboard at 1-0. However, Pain was unable to hold her serve and endorsed a crucial break to her adversary. Nonetheless, the third
seeded Frenchwoman had managed to take a lead of 3-0 by capitalizing on an early break. It was in the fourth game that Pain made return by holding her serve and then broke Georges in the fifth game to reduce the deficit to 2-3.
However, in the following two games the players traded in breaks and by the end of the seventh game the score had shifted to 4-3 with Georges leading the game but in the eighth game Pain managed to equalize the score at four games
each with a hold of serve. In the second last game, Georges first held her serve and was only a game away from victory and then as Pain’s forehand went wayward, she gifted the opening set to Goerges in the tenth game.
The second set of the match was initiated by Georges and once more the two players managed to hold their respective serves and tied the score at 1-1. As the third seed held her serve in the third game, in the fourth she capitalized
on a break to take a mini lead of 3-1 on the scoreboard. However, Pain made a comeback by breaking back and reduced the deficit to 2-3 at the end of the fifth game. In the sixth game Pain managed to equalize the score at 3-3.
In the seventh game the third seeded French once more held her serve and then broke her adversary to not only take the lead but was now only a game away from securing  a place in the next round. As Georges served for the match,
she smashed a marvellous backhand winner down the line to seal her victory.
The third seeded French reserved a spot in the semi final of the event where she will be facing eighth seeded Czech Martina Borecka.
