I just bought this 1999 Honda Civic from a dealer 127 miles away (Mapquest). So we got there and did a test drive, then bought it. We drove it home (127 miles) and drove it around town for a little bit. I took it to a local QT to top off the tank and it only took 2.26 gallons of gas o.O. So thats 130 miles in 2.26 gallons of gas, hows that possible??? That would mean it has over 60 mpg, which i know is not right. Can someone clear up my confusion?

  1. actually older models of cars (mostly Japanese) such as toyotas or hondas get really great mpg. the older hondas run a small engine (about 1.8L) so they are really efficient when it comes to gas. toyotas seem to be better though

  2. you car may not be full. mabye the gas pump messed up?

  3. Well Maybe You Should Take It Back And Ask The Person Who Sold It To You And Ask Them If Its A Problem.

  4. It's possible you just bought a car with a whacked out odometer. I wouldn't trust what it is reading.
