This a good job?

Question

i work as a waiter i get paid 6 dollars a hour and from 4 pm to 11 pm

im 16 and they pay cash not check

work from 4pm to 11 am=7 hours

7 times 6 = 42 dollars a day right

so i only work for 6 days not sundays

6 days times 42 dollars = 252 a week

and 4 weeks= 1008 dollars

plus im in usa chicago illinois

this a good job

What part of Chicago? This is not a good job in my opinion and sounds like something offered on the southside.. Remember, the only good thing about the southside of Chicago is the north-bound bus.

THAT IS A GREAT JOB.

but no school?

I would have to ask WHY? why cut short of your future for $12,000 a year now; which is most likely not much left for saving at the end of the year.

not really i mean thats a lot of hours and only 6 dollars an hour i mean even if it was in checks and u had to pay taxes u would still make more money

My question to you is, do you like what you are doing?

If you do, then why wonder or complain about the money. It's obviously just a temporary job for you until to become of adult age.

If it's what you are looking for and you accepted the pay before starting the job then be happy!

It isn't going to make you rich but, it's better then not working and making nothing.

Do you get tips too? I'm assuming minimum wage is $6 in Illinois?
