i took out my guinea pig in the morning to let it have fun and while i was asleep my guinea pig was in my backyard and it was attacked by flies and got fly strike. fly strike can happen within 8 hours and kill the guinea pig instantly and i woke up to see him in pain. i instantly looked up and saw that he had fly strike and what i could do as first aid and then i found out that he need vet attention immediately, i currently had no money for a vet and no one else did and it costed $350 but my dad did but he was at work and i couldnt contact him cuz he had no cel and he comes home at 8pm so i cleaned up as much as i could by washing the area with water but it didnt change much, then i saw the a person from the humane center come at around 2am and she said she wanted to see it so i showed her it and instead of picking up the animal properly and bringing it to a vet she grabbed it by its back yanked it and picked it up like it was an object in fact it squealed in pain. she then went in van and supposedly went to the vet to save it but she came back to tell me it died in her van but the guinea pig is supposed to be ok for another 48 hours with the illness which means her inability to hold the guinea pig properly had killed it. she instantly blamed me and told me that i HAD to surrender my other pet because of "animal cruelty" and i asked her what she would've done in my position and she said "i would've plucked the things off with my hands" then i told her about how i used water and cleaned him up and i asked again but she didnt answer and started looking at my bunny. i asked her if i surrendered my pet what would happen and she said "it will go to the pound" and i said what if it doesnt get adopted and she said "it will get adopted" but i knew that if it doesnt it gets put down so she was obviously lying then she told me that i could never have a pet again even though i had nothing in my power to do anything and that she killed my guinea pig, out of curiousity is this legal?
