Question:

This dream freaked me out and I can't stop thinking about it...?

In my dream, I was with some friends and for some reason, we had two choices: take a ladder, or jump down a hole. I jumped into the hole, and was met with the Devil. Seriously, the Devil was in my dream. I remember his exact words: "You shouldn't have made that choice."

WTF. I couldn't go back to sleep for a while after that. Any suggestions on what that means?

  1. i really think that is your mind saying that you regret something or something like that

  2. Yeah, the hole represents what is called the "pit".  The pit in the bible is a spiritual place of darkness.  The pit is a place where you fall into and you can't get your self out of.  It is the place where you fall prey to all sorts of sinful bondage.  And when you fall into that pit, God is the only one who can get you out.  Also, in the pit is where you will find the devil has access and avenues to your life.

  3. One interpretation:

Kindly note that the devil, which is deified evil, placed itself in a position of commanding authority over you, with an "ought" statement in a finality mode.

In point of fact, you continue to have the ability to make choice, and to change choice, while you are in embodiment.

The ladder of divine ascent, Jacob's ladder, asks of you effort.  It is not effort to fall.  It is effort to move on up, come up higher.  The trek upward is worth the inconvenience.

Kindly note that one's inner child is one's soul.  The inner sense, innocence, memories of childlike joy, truth, love, are to be championed, even as Jesus taught the Way of the sacred Child of Light.  Healing the childish greed, envy, pride is the complementary portion of parental and then personal guidance and growing up.

College is an experience in which many have forsaken the complete love of God for love of person, power, sensuality, and grossly material knowledge, all too often as types of childishness.

The common denominator is sensuality, envy, pride, and suchlike.  "University of Destruction," David Wheaton's personal memoir of going to Stanford before turning world-class tennis pro, is a good read; likewise, "Expecting Adam," Martha Beck, Ph.D., about her Harvard grad experience.  C. S. Lewis' "The Great Divorce" and Helen Greaves' "Testimony of Light" are also worthwhile.

While energy-veil, e-veil, evil, exists, it ultimately is not real; similarly with the deified ("as gods") evil of devilness.

While much of organized religion is off-putting, it would probably be worth your eternal while to contact and connect with your campus' Christian group, that is like what you enjoyed as a youth.  They aren't often much different from worldly youth, but there often is a lovingkindness and love of God and man which is transcendent, worthwhile.

God is real, and this world is somewhat unreal; however, by emphasizing materialism, colleges have for the most part abandoned any awareness of God, and inculcate scientism, libertinism, and materialism.  Jonah Goldberg's "Liberal Fascism" may be of secular help vis a vis perceiving the more common source of much of secular power interests.  "Freakonomics" by S. Levitt is worthwhile re learning to earn.  God bless.

  4. if the devil was ugly, well he's not, satan is beautiful

  5. Impulsiveness will be your undoing.

Jumping in a almost always the wrong choice.

  6. shoulda taken the ladder.

  7. from what I under stand the ladder represented the way to heaven and the hole was the path to h**l you chose h**l. My question is how religious are you do you go to church a lot or are just believe in god. Also have you done any thing bad maybe you should say the lords prayer and ask for your sins to be forgiven. The only thing I can think of is go to a chruch and ask the minister or priest what they think it means and what you should do

  8. lol well straight in there...Maybe it means that you shouldnt of made a choose that you recently did, or you need to keep yourself on the right track to make the right desision in the future. Or it could mean the total opposite since its the devil.

  9. Maybe you feel like you're taking the easy way out, going down the wrong path in some decision in your life.  It's easier to fall than it is to climb.  This dream could be warning.  If it was really a dream about choosing heaven or h**l, it's hard to imagine the devil saying 'you shouldn't have made that choice', because the devil WANTS you to make that choice.  Unless of course he was taunting you about it, that would make sense.

I've had the devil in my dreams a lot, and the message is always the same; your mine, God doesn't want you, Jesus can't save you, blah blah blah blah blah.

It's all lies because the devil is the father of lies, and he will torment you the most when you are on the brink of spiritual victory.

  10. Well the devil means either that you're feeling guilty about something that you've done (hence taking the ladder or going down) and you feel you've made the wrong choice. Or he could mean that there's some temptation that you're trying to resist, but you're going for it and a part of you is scolding yourself for it.
