  1. Raptor 350 is a good all around bike. it won't get you killed as easy as a big 700. Like the other dude said, Honda TRX400ex. They are bad to the bone bikes. and you can mod them so much. you can do the same with a raptor though. your choice but the honda gives you 50 more cc's and they make 440cc bore kits for the trx 400 so if down the road you want more power or want a 450 to race there you go. go for the honda, but the raptor 350 is perfect to start on. a 700 is to much power for a begginer

  2. Buy something you can grow into rather than grow out of. If a machine is too powerful for you, you can tame the engine via throttle s***w, making it so throttle will not open up fully.

By the sounds of it, you are not a hard core motocross racer, so I would look for something with Reverse, nice torque and low maintenance.

My suggestion is a Raptor 700. It is a very powerful machine, handles great, perfect for trail riding, fuel injected, reverse, easy to make faster...just a great all around quad.

I started out on a Warrior 350, I got used to it within a week and was wanting more. Was very hard keeping up with my buddies on that machine...they would have to slow down so I could keep up. I sold it for a loss and then purchased my Raptor 700. I'll never sell the rappy...ever.

Check this site out, they can answer any question you might have about a Raptor or other Yamaha products. They are not like the usual rude people that you would find on forums, great people.

  3. dont buy a raptor 700 as your first quad.  the raptor 350 is perfect for you.  you probably dont know how to use a clutch so that will take getting used to.  the 350 has plenty of power the 700 would probably throw you off by fourth gear.

  4. its a good quad its alittle top heavy but i would go with a honda 400ex the new ones r sick
