This guy is following me around... but not in a stalker kinda way?

this new guy came to my school and me being the nice kinda girl i am i started talkin to him... well i found out that hes from nevada and doesnt know anyone and he follows me around at lunch and stuff and is being REALLY friendly for only knowing me a few days. he can be annoying at times but then again i feel bad for him cuz i dont wanna leave him in the dust all by himself... what do i do??

this happened to my friend last year. Since he's new, he has no choice but to cling to you. He is probably aware that he may be annoying, but you are most likely the only person who has been genuinely friendly and nice. Without you, he would be a loner. My friend just put up with him for a few weeks, didn't offer to get any closer, didn't invite him out, etc. Eventually, he'll get the hint and find other friends who truly appreciate him. If he has siblings at the same school you should say something like, "Why don't you hang out with your brother, he seems pretty cool." Just sort of be there for him until he can make more friends. If you stay in this situation, you have to tell him straight up that he's kind of invading your space and needs to make more friends. :)

I had that EXACT same problem. I ALWAYS end up being the first person to talk to the new kid lol.

Just introduce him to a lot of other people.

Like EVERYONE.

This way at least one person is gonna wanna hang with him.
