  1. huh??? i think mate then kill...thats how i roll

  2. They might kill each other so if you do introduce them do it with a split cage.

This is a photo of one http://www.twinsqueeks.com/photos/SplitT...

And info how to make one

P.S I know it says gerbils but it also works for hamsters

  3. The guy at the pet store is very, very wrong, and quite frankly lacking ethics for encouraging a child (I presume, I apologize if you are older) to breed hamsters for him.

Syrian hamsters cannot live together. They are strictly solitary. Even if they seem to get along at first, they will eventually fight for the space they share, possibly until one is dead. Don't introduce your hamsters.

Breeding hamsters is best left to people who are professional. They know the genetics of the hamsters they mate, so they know that all their baby hamsters will be healthy. They also have experience taking care of the mom and babies. Having babies is hard on a hamster's body, and if not given all the proper care, the mom and the babies could die. If you love your hamster, don't mate it with another. Wait until you are older and have more knowledge of breeding.

Tell the guy at the pet store to get job, since he obviously doesn't know how to do the one he has now.

  4. Sounds like he's just trying to get you to mate them for him so he can get some more hamsters to sell. You don't want to be breeding hamsters when you don't know anything about it. You will be risking the life of your pet and the babies.

And Syrians are very territorial. It's always possible they'll get along, but it's also more likely that the current resident will attack.

  5. they will definately kill each other.

  6. you shouldnt really keep them together i think there going to fight but if you want to give it a try you have to put the girl into the boys cage instead  of visaversa...good luck....and also if you think your hamster is very nice and never bites you should try it for like one day and put them together and if they fight you can take the girl back to the shop..

  7. Don't! Hamsters get territorial and will fight til death if they are introduced as adults. Only if they grew up together.. Keep them in seperate cages and gradually introduce them..once they get use to each other and don't kill each other then place them in one cage.

  8. if the two hamsters are female they will fight. male hamsters tend to get along much better than females. if you are trying to mate a female and male hamster, place them in an open area where there's room for them to "run away" if they don't feel comfortable which each other. if the female doesn't try to fight the male or makes any moves of aggression then it's okay to try to mate them. also have some shelter's in the area if one of them wants some privacy.

  9. they will kill each other or mate, and the female sometimes eats some of the babies.

that is true, keep them in separate cages!

    (i've raised several hamsters).

    good luck! :)

  10. that guy is an idiot!!!!!!

they will more then likely cause harm to each other eventually
