ok, on the today show they were talking about how a 13 year old girl hung herslef in her room this is what they said(btw i dont know girls real name so im calling her jen) :"this is where 13 year old jen hanged herself."

is that incorredt the way the described jen being hung. is it HANGED or HUNG when descriding a person commiting suicide?
