I'm an intense runner and I have been for about three years, however.

I took a break for two months because of an injury. I went for a distance run yesterday and I noticed my throat was VERY tight, it felt constricted and the back of my throat actually hurt? I've never noticed that happening in the summer, only when i ran in the winter and the cold air was hard to breath.

  1. Shorten your run a little then work up to longer distance. I had this same problem  on the elliptical.( I use the elliptical instead of running because of bad knees) I was told at the gym that the problem was partly due to being a little out of shape after an illness and partly from being too tense and holding my breath. It did go away though. Go to the Dr. if your tight throat doesn't go away.  Happy running :)

  2. oooo I hate that feeling, I used to get it in indoor season.

I suspect you just ran too hard for the first day back. You'll be fine

  3. Okay, I don't comprehend nor detect any real question here....

Shame on you for going on a "distance run" after 2 months off with an injury.  I'd have opted for starting back slowly and allowing your body to readjust to running.

You don't actually say whether it was hot or cold when you ran, but I'd suggest it had more to do with hydration or low humidity, plus your first day back, than anything else.

    Good Luck
