if you  gotta  use  prepaid  you dont need  a  pda/smartphone.  your gonna  pay the same price for the device and  use  crazy amounts of money  going thru  prepay.  sure  you can  do  everything   and  run  your prepay money out  fast.  get  a  data  plan  30 bucks unlimited

On Verizon, you can't use those phones as prepaid devices. There is a limited selection available for prepaid plans and you need to check out the options your carrier offers. I don't have an explanation as for why they do this but I know that the PDAs can definitely not be used as prepay phones. And if you do buy a BlackBerry, you will automatically be charged anywhere from $20-40 per month for a data plan, depending on your service provider. No way around that.
