I applied for a fasfa (federal student aid) and they sent me a letter in the mail saying they didnt get my signed paper. Should I reapply and send a new one? I cant call them for a good 9 hrs but what do you guys think?

  1. You need to go to www.pin.ed.gov and create a pin number. This number will electronically sign your fafsa. Once you get your pin go to www.fafsa.ed.gov and sign your fafsa. This is the best way to do it. You will want to remember this number, because you can use it to go back in later if you need to and make corrections. You will also need it again next year to sign your fafsa.


  2. Do a Check Status of a Submitted FAFSA on the www.fafsa.ed.gov homepage and see if its been processed.  If it has it does take 2-3 weeks from the day you mailed it to be received and processed.

    You can only have 1 application on file so reapplying is not going to help anything.  If it is on file you should try applying for a PIN which is a lot faster to sign than a signature page.
