I just had a large explosive bowel movement - lol. Sorry. I'm 11 weeks pregnant and since then, I have been pretty crampy (period like cramps). I have been having the cramps anyway, they just seem to be worse right now. Could the bowel movement have caused any problems to worry about?

  1. No I wouldn't worry about too much..

    But drink lot's of water..

  2. Bowel cramping can set off uterine cramps, and vise versa. It should pass, just take a little break and relax.

  3. Not the bowel movement itself, I wouldn't think.  If it was "explosive", (lol... sorry...) your cramps are probably due to the diarrhea itself.  I've had that happen before during a pregnancy.  It is kind of scary, so I understand your asking.  I wouldn't worry, but you could always put a call in to your OB just to check.

Good luck!  I hope you feel better.  :)

  4. Just watch out for dehydration.  Your cramping is probably the result of the BM you had.  Sounds like you may be in for another one soon.  Sorry, I know you don't want to hear that.  Either way, I think you're fine.  Just watch your fluids.  If you start to run a fever, call your doctor.

  5. I wouldn't worry too much, but continue to pay attention to your body.  I'm sure you just ate something that didn't agree with you and that's what caused the diarrhea (when you say "explosive", I assume its diarrhea).  Cramping is VERY common when you have diarrhea or an upset tummy.  If it starts to seriously worry you and you just feel like somethings not right, don't hesitate to call the doctor.
