This is a hard one guys....???

Alright, about 4 months ago I unfortunately got approved for like 5 different credit cards at once. Since I had just started a new job I took those credit cards and got my hair done and my nails done and bought some new professional attire (I work at a jewelry store so I typically need to wear a suit or skirt and blouse). I do admit that I didn't go to places like TJ MAXX or Ross but I hate those stores and I can never find anything worth buying.

So to make a long story short, I got myself into about $3,700 credit card debt. My fiance and I are going on vacation in october to orlando and I would like to be able to enjoy our time there to the absolute fullest. However, I would like to pay off the majority of my debt before then, that way at least my credit cards are available at our discretion.

So here is my financial situation, I am 18...i have a really good job, better than your average 18 year old. I make 11 dollars an hour so every 2 weeks i bring home about 700 dollars. I just recently was cleaning out my closet and found 1800 dollars in cash!!!! But i just can't bring myself to use that cash for bills and debt because then it will be like I never saved it in the first place.

I'm just looking for some different opinions on what I should do, if you are gonna be rude and give worthless comments and say stupid stuff then dont bother replying and go play in traffic or something because you are a waste of life...so i only want constructive feedback not idiotic comments from losers with no life thanks!!

  1. you spent $3,700 that you never had in the first place so in reality you never saved the $1800 either.

you should apply the $1800 to your credit card.   that will reduce the amount of interest you are paying each month which will help you pay down the debt quicker.

  2. Wow, that IS a tough one, I'm freaking out too because I'm $1,100 in debt and I just get laid off work :( so I can relate to how you feel. Well, what I would do in your situation is to use the $1,800 you found for your debt. I know you said you didn't want to do that, but maybe it was a sign? Think about it, if you use that money for your debt, you'll only have $1,900 more to pay off. Almost half of your debt is already gone! And you said you wanted most of it to be gone by the time you take your vacation, so this seems like a good idea to me. A couple of the things I have done to stop spending money are to stop buying lattes :( and stop eating out. I realized I could save about $70 a month by just cutting those things out. Also, if you're able to, you should put your next 2 paychecks towards your debt. After that, you should only have about $500 left to pay, which is definitely a big difference from where you started. One last piece of advice: cut up  your credit cards after your vacation!!! Keep one if you absolutely have to. Good luck!
