  1. Makes great fertilizer and is commonly used in some of the more "backward" countries, esp. in rice paddys. That doesn't mean you should stop eating rice...that practice rules out exporting the stuff, as it also contributes to disease...K ;o)

  2. In some lesser developed countries it is used. They have to soak root vegetables in a chlorox-water solution to kill pathogenic germs.

In some areas of the US, where there is no industrial sewage, the agricultural sewage is injected directly into the fields for animal feed to grow.

  3. i've heard, no, bc it's too high in ammonia...

  4. Untreated, I don't think so.

There's a sewer treatment plant near my house and there's warning signs all over the land they spread the water out on.  They do put cattle in there though and those cattle are eventually consumed.  My local golf course also uses the treated water to water the golf course.

  5. Yes.  It has to be treated so parasites can't be spread.

  6. In Europe we used to take that and spray it on the fields in the fall (with the animals output as well)  for the next year's fertilizer.  That is organic fertilizer.  ~

  7. Yes, it is excellent fertilizer...but it has to be composted first or heat-treated to avoid dangers from parasites.

It is used raw in many Asian countries.
