is the synaptic button the same as the presynaptic vesicle?

  1. No. A presynaptic vesicle is any of several small, intracellular membrane-bound vesicles at a synaptic junction of neurons that contain the neurotransmitter. Whereas, if I'm correct in the terminology, the synaptic buttons are the same as terminal buttons which are the part of the neuron at the end of of the axons where neurotransmitters are released. They would differ in the sense that one releases the neurotransmitter and the other is the entity carrying, or containing, the neurotransmitter.
