  1. I strongly feel that you got the spelling of the plant wrong .

Try ' Cup and Saucer plant '

    The scientific name is Holmskioldia

see picture on the link below -

Holmskioldia is a genus of plants in the family Verbenaceae.

Chinese hat, Cup and Saucer, Parasol Flower, Mandarins hat.

Unique flowers are the main interest of this scrambling shrub: each is a narrow, orange-scarlet tube backed by a broad, circular calyx.

Its unique flowers are the main interest of this scrambling shrub: each is a narrow, orange-scarlet tube backed by a broad, circular calyx, appearing in dense terminal clusters through fall and winter.

The mid-green leaves are oval and slightly serrated. Its long, trailing canes make it ideal for espaliering. Rampant growth can be contained by pruning after flowering and old canes can be removed.

There are also yellow- and bronze-flowered forms. Full sun but will bloom in filtered light.

    Holmskioldia sanguinea

Chinese Hat Plant, Cup and Saucer Plant, Parasol Flower

Named for Theodor Holmskiold, an 18th Danish physician and professor, Holmskioldia sanguinea is native to the Himalayan lowlands and is an erect scandent (climbing) shrub that bears narrowly trumpet-shaped flowers with crimson petals and orange-red calyces from summer to autumn.

There is yet another totally different plant / vine -

a woody, Mexican vine, Cobaea scandens, of the phlox family, having bell-shaped, violet-colored or greenish-purple flowers with an inflated, leaflike calyx and long, curved stamens.

Cup-and-saucer Vine (Cathedral Bells; Cobaea scandens) is a perennial ornamental plant of the Polemoniaceae family, which is native of Tropical America. In addition, this plant is a common weed in New Zealand.

Now it is for you to decide as to which one is referred to in

    your book !!

edit -- 1)Canterbury Bells (Campanula medium) also known as the bell flower ( And not cup and saucer flower ), is an annual or biennial flowering plant with attractive bell shaped flowers with a flat base.

Colours they come in are blue, purple, mauve or white.

They produce huge spikes of extremely long lasting blooms. They grow to attain 2-3 feet in height. In gardens, they are best in massed planting in borders or among shrubs.

It prefers cool or warm zones; not suitable for the tropics or hot, dry regions. In floriography, they represent gratitude.

Thus Campanula medium is a BELL FLOWER AND NOT CUP AND SAUCER FLOWER ) ( refer wikipedia )

Now see its photos and decide ( One picture is better than a 1000 words )

2 )   Cobaea scandens  is a flower from family Polemoniaceae or the phlox family   AND

3 )  Holmskioldia is a genus of plants in the family Verbenaceae.

Now it is for you to find out from your book as to from which family the plant is quoted . And then go by it .

Answers with out authentic references are unreliable even if they come from self proclaimed experts !!!!!!!!

The name " Campanula " it self means " A little bell " and it is from Campanulaceae family ,
