  1. I was home schooled from 3rd grade on and I loved it, it gave me the opportunity to interact with people of more varied age and backgrounds than would have been available in a traditional school setting.

I'll be graduating with my BS this spring (already have my AAS) from a private university and just accepted a full-time job in my field.

I honestly feel like homeschooling has never held me back, only pushed me forward :)

  2. I was homeschooled from 10th grade to 12th.(I gradutated one year early though.) I was in homeschool for exactly 14 months. I hated every minute of it. My parents took me out of public school because of sexual harassment by my coach. She took me and my sister out. My sister loved it she was very outgoing to say the least. I was happy right where I was. I had a boyfriend and was making plans for his senior prom. After I was pulled out, I lost all contact with my friends, they went to school when I was working and vis versa.so eventually him and I broke it off. I never got to go to prom, homecomming (which is big at this school) or walk across the stage. All of this makes me feel like I missed out. Homeschool made me mature very quickily. I mean how many 17 yr olds do you know that has been working a full-time job and just graduated high school. (I had to do the homeschool thing while maintaining a full time job!!) My first true love was an older man I met from work and the second man I was ever with is now my husband. I didn't party and now I'm content with sitting at home answering yahoo answers while cleaning house and taking care of five kids!!! No, I wouldn't say I fit in with people my age. I find myself having more in common with older people than people my age. I don't understand the "partying and drinking" thing.

  3. From my kids...

    1)

    Sometimes it's irritating.

I guess I fit it, I don't feel out of place.

    2)

Homeschooling is the 2nd best thing ever in the history of everything.  Unschooling is the best, which is a slightly better version of homeschooling.

I still fit in with people, like any other type of schooled person.

I can only answer as a public schooled person...

Nope didn't like it most of the time

And well, I can hang out with people as well as the next guy :D

  4. No, I didn't like it. I loved it!

    I was homeschooled K-12.

Yes, I still fit in with people.  I am outgoing, I love to talk (I can out talk anyone!), I love making new friends, and I am always busy doing things with friends.  Most people don't even realixe I was homeschooled until I tell them.  I don't know if this is a good thing or not... ;)

  5. I hate being home schooled.. I'm a hermit and I've got no social skills..

However, alot of it is my own fault.. when I was younger (where social skills should start) I never wanted to get out..homeschool has a ton of advantages and I would homeschool my kids (when I'd have em).. I'd just make sure they get out more than I did!

  6. Yes I liked it.  Yes I did it the entire time and yes I still fit in with other people.

  7. I am homeschooled and I still have friends and I am still able to "fit in"..I just made the time to do that...Personally being homeschooled didnt ruin my life like I though it would be its a great was to learn how to study in College!

  8. Ya I enjoyed being homeschooled. If you really like the social aspect and want to be with ur friends all the time then public school is good. But I had plenty of time with my friends when i was homeschooled and i feel i got a better education. There are also lots of homeschool groups that you can join.

  9. I was home schooled from 5th grade on. My parents made me take the yearly tests to see if you are with the appropriate grade level. At first it sucked because I fought it. When I finally got the idea that I could excel at learning just by trying hard, I started to progress rapidly. I graduated with a diploma at 15 and had my first degree by 18. When my friends, who were going to public school would make fun of me, i would remind the little retards that while they were just finishing their  senior year, I was starting work and getting paid 18 dollars an hour. (pretty good for 1991) Since then Ive gone back to school 4 times to learn new fields. (chemistry, physics, nursing, HTML, graphic design) While going to college has been personally enriching, I have always found the pace to be too slow for my enjoyment. I read 3-4 books a month, and try to engage in as much stimulating conversation as I can. Do I fit in? Absolutely not! But being smart is worth it for me. home schooling is great......IF(1) Your parents dont just throw you a book and expect you to learn, (2) You are self motivated to learn, (3) You keep an active social life during your homeschool years, (4) You dont mind being a nerd.

  10. Yes, I love homeschooling!  And yes, I still "fit in" with people.  Society doesn't realize that when you are homeschooled, it doesn't mean that you are disconnected with the world.  You actually have more conncetion with people (and you learn more) than public schoolers.  I am proud of who I am and what I have learned, and nobody can take that away from me.

  11. I started homeschooling my freshman year and I love it (I'm a junior now). I find its easier to concentrate on my work rather that worrying about the wierd gossip being passed around the school. My social life has stayed almost the same. I won't lie, I've lost a few friends, but I think I would've lost those friends had I stayed in public school. The only advice I have about the social life part is to work on it. A lot of people may drift away cause you don't go to the same school. But if both of you really want to stay friends, it'll work out. Just accept that you'll both be pretty busy and stay in contact. Also get involved in activities. I play softball and that's where most of my friends come from  :)

  12. no i hate it i even just asked my dad if i could go t public school and now he wont talk to me!
