i was in panama for two weeks, to help build a school...i'm in the army reserves and, thats what we did as engineers...while we we're there, me and a fellow ssg wanted to donate clothes and what ever items we could, seeing as american's we're so spoiled with things that they don't have.....we we're in a remote village called: chiriqui....i'm not sure exactly where it was but, we fell in love with the village native's and, just wanted to help...is there any direct way that we can send things where, we know they'll receive it? we took alot of picture's, and the kids we're awesome....thank you ssg lemay

  1. Chiriqui is a province and not a village (although "de Chiriqui"  could have been part of the name to distinguish it from a town in a different province).  Was it a group of indigenous people?  If so, they were part of the Ngobe people and the tribe has a government called a comarca.  You might be able to go through it.

I applaud your efforts as an engineer.  That kind of help is especially valuable.   Although they need clothes, clothes are a double edged sword as they help people while creating dependency.    The best thing to do would be to find a way to provide scholarships so that people could go to high school.   $20-$40 a semester is enough to help a good student go beyond primary school.
