is there a limit how many leaves a plant or a tree can grow? can a tree grow infinant leaves if the condition is favorable?

  1. I wouldnt think so. I dont think that the tree has any set limit. I mean, if it had a limit and it reached that limit, the tree wouldnt say "Well I reached my leaf limit, I cant grow any more!" And I dont think its a stupid question at all.


  2. A tree or other plant will only grow as many leaves as are necessary to provide the plant with the energy it needs to produces seeds and store enough food for the next year.  Producing leaves takes energy and plants that are successful know how to get the most bang for the buck (or produce the proper amount of energy needed to reproduce and survive for another year.
