okay so im 13 and i luv luv luv acting and i just recently discovered this when i was like 11 okay i guess that isnt recent. Anyways i live in CA so i have access to show biz and one day when me and my mom were in Target this lady stopped us and asked me to go this audition thing to get an agent and stuff, and i made it but we have to do a lot of stuff like get a Coogan account (we already did that), take a gazillion workshops, take headshots, and get my work permit and stuff. anyways i really want to do tv, commercials, movies, and modeling (all types print, runway, etc.) and i have been told several times by several people that i need to start that kind of stuff. But my mom keeps procrastinating with getting all the stuff done. and she wants me to do like theatre acting. i mean sure thats okay but tv, commercials, movies, and modeling are my passion. When people ask me what i want to be when i grow up and i say an actress she just rolls her eyes and smirks. my sister who is 10 years

  1. invite them along to one of your drama groups to watch rehearsals..

this should show them that it is a passion not a greed for fame..

i know how you feel i have just completed a drama diploma and everyone said it was a class to take when you wanted a doss however it was harder than my A-Levels and more demanding physically and emotionally.

also try taking them to a play in the theatre and they will see that not all actors/actresses are cocaine taking camera whores!!! lol

    good luck sweety xxxxx

  2. Well, that's just your mom caring for you. She's just worried that you're dream might not come fully true, and you'll be sad after. She's probably not procrastinating, just stalling for you to change your mind. She just wants what she thinks is best for you.

If it's really your passion and you REALLY want to go for it, just sit down with your mom and talk to her about it. Say that you know you'll have to work hard, but you will do your best to do that work. AND that talk should be around an hour. Don't beg, but connect with her. Tell her your reasons, and the difficulties that you know about, and what you'll have to do to make your dream come true.

  3. Well i have to tell you, about your mom shes probably just worrying about you, what if it dosen't work out? what happens then? What will you do know that you wasted your life trying to be an actor? But, what i have to say is, follow your heart even if life seems like it sucks you'll know that you did what you wanted to do.

  4. i know that they were thinking that your too confident that you can make it in the showbiz industry . there is nothing wrong with your dreams. All you have to do, is be good with your c**p.

I know the weather will change if you'll start earning money and fame.

Your dreams are just an foot away from you girl. Try to ask help from people in the industry or look for a manager who will really work for you in order for you to have all the commercials in the world, a movie a show etc.

  5. its simple, your going to be EXPOSED, and parents (and relatives) get a little frightened at how things might 'settle out ' on how you would act. i mean its great that you your reaching for your dreams, but if your mom is concerned, you should have a talk about the career your about to walk into. don't forget, this is a big change in your life and your family's life, you should have a talk about things about it to settle or make good (great, fine, i don't know what word to put here).

i hope you succeed in life, good night!

  6. it is because it is a VERY hard business to make it in.  I suggest doing things you are doing but finish school, plan on going to a theater school to LEARN how to act.  be serious about it and they will take you serious.
