he's great, sure, but it was him running, NOT the people.

& he would've LOST to that poor filly had it not been for the 2 breaks in her legs.

the race just finished like 30 minutes ago, its not enough time for reporters to write long articles and have them submited and approved for publishing.  Geez talk about the microwave generation everything has to happen in a instant.

Here you go is this enough? Only took like 1 hour and 15 minutes after the race.  I mean whats wrong with these reporters, dont they know they have to write the article as the event is happened and submit what they have on a minute by minute coverage.  Shouldnt CNN be covering this live, with reaction by the owners, members of PETA, The derby official, celebrity reactions.  Come on NEWS do your job.

Yea...i love how we mourned for Barbaro...and yet there is 5 min of coverage for a SECOND PLACE WINNER...sick.

Yeah, i know.  I'm sure there will be a little more coverage... it's hard to have a lot of press coverage when it just happened a few minutes ago.  But no matter what, it's going to be a footnote.  I wish this derby never happened.

Watch closely. Soon the coverage will change from Big Brown's impressive (but not long-lasting) win to Eight Belles' tragic loss. I'm watching right now: SC says that "more importantly" Eight Belles broke down. Such is the way of coverage.

Edit: Aha. Post race coverage by ESPN is all Eight Belles. Good that she gets the media respect she deserves.

Also, I'm not sure about this being a footnote. This is the first time in the history of the KD that this is happened - it's sure to be written adjacent to the win.

My little sister who loves horses was freaking out because Eight Belles didnt get her moment of silence. I think since its so soon after the race thats the best they could do.

Give the press sometime. I feel so bad about Eight Belles, I wanted her to win and she almost had it. Im also glad that I wasnt there to witness it, I dont think I could handle it.

I sure hope not, because I was cheering for her and she ran a great race against the big boys. I will never forget her name.  I think she should be honored!
