Question:

This is another problem, concerning neighbors...and noise!?

I received great advice here, so I am back to ask another question concerning a neighbor. It seems he does not work,

and spends the last two weeks out in his front yard with what

seems to be a buzz saw, or some kind of machinery/tool.

It is nerve wrecking, and unfortunately I am one who works

nights, and sleeps mornings. After he uses this gut wrecking

noisy tool for just about all day long, until about 5 p.m. he then

puts his dog outside, who barks and whines constantly. I do

not know what to do, as I spoke to him, and wrote a letter twice about his dog. Very politely, but to the point. He then

resolves the dilemma for about a week, then it starts all over again. This last past two weeks includes this buzz saw, in

which if I keep my front door closed, it is not too bad, but I

can not breathe well as I do not have air conditioning.

(nor can I afford it...sorry) Please help me with this matter,

and do not suggest any other neighbors as they do not speak english! Thanks!:)

  1. ask him again politely, then if he still doesnt stop, say youll have to report him, and then he might stop. if he doesnt, go thhrough with your words and call the police to report him. that will make him stop.

  2. I was going to suggest talking to him, but since you did that already and it hasn't resolved your problem I don't think it'll help.  Maybe he'll get bored with the saw soon and find a quieter hobby.  I know this won't help with the dog, though.  Try earplugs - they are inexpensive and block out lots of noise.  If your bedroom is close to the bathroom with an exhaust fan, run the fan - the "white noise" will help drown out the neighbor.
