Question:

This is fairly lengthy but I have to ask?

I have two pairs of shorts that have to front pockets, two rear pockets and two sideways thigh pockets. I use the pockets constantly for keys, change, wallet all sorts of stuff, my question is why do the pockets very rarely wear out? The shorts come down to just above my knees, so my knees aren't in the way of the material, yet the wear and tear is causing abrasion to just above the hem above my knees and the rear wear I don't rub against anything above my butt is wearing thin also. So why do the pants part of the shorts wear out, but the most used parts of the shorts like the pockets, seem to last forever?

  1. The pockets are made out of a different material than the pants

  2. The pocket are made of a thicker metrail than the shorts so it last longer. quite a few people love to wear shorts that have wholes in them because they want to look diffrent from others and some think it is the style.

  3. That's a good question.  You sit on your bottom so that would wear the rear.  Do you rub your hands on your thighs when you sit?  Maybe it's the fabric.  They usually put pockets in places that don't get normal wear.  Hope this is informative?
