Why would you expect to see only congruent verbal and nonverbal communications taking place in the classroom?

Well, this may be an oversimplification, but my guess is that it is due to the age and development level of the students in a preschool class.   They tend to talk and do at the same time.  They are really into their play and activities.  Usually they have not learned to lie so what they say tends to match what they do.  I hope this is what you are looking for.
