Hi everyone,

I'm intending to buy a Digital SLR camera. I have included some links to the ones i'm interested in. Would you be able to look at them and tell me which one is worth it?

  1. I use canon equiptment so I am biased towards canon , depending how serious you are then if you can then 400d ,

as a medium start out camera , but check out which camera magazine to get some comparisons

  2. dont get an olympus whatever you do, they are good camera's but they use the four thirds mount and getting lenses for it are a bugger unless you dont mind spending lots of money on an olympus lens, I'd recommend the samsung GX20 which is exactly the same as the pentax k20 only a fair bit cheaper the specs are best you can get for the money + you can use any pentax lens that has been made since the 1970's.

  3. Which? reviewed 3 of these 4 in April.  I can't figure out how to paste the report in (email me if you want it) - but the totals were:

    Canon 400D   74%

    Olympus E-410   66%

    Sony Alpha 200   67%

The 450D was too new to review.

However, their Best Buys was Canon 350D, along with 5 other that were all priced over £700.

    HTH.

  4. Hold on... I'll find a link for you...

    Edit:

OK, I spent months poring over reviews myself, and even playing with various dSLRs in camera shops, and this is what I went for:

E-510 and 2 lenses. Fantastic camera. I have not been disappointed.

Anyway, out of your choices, the E-410 gets my vote. But the E-510 is nicer to hold and has optical image stabilisation. I haven't had a bad picture yet.

The New Olympus 420 with 2 lenses.

I shoot Pentax. If you want to see the results, message me, and I will send you a link to my profile on RedBubble.

    Good luck with your choice.

  6. These are entry level cameras. They are all about the same. I wouldn't choose Sony. Sony has a very sort experience in SLRs all though Sony uses the technology which bought with Minolta. Just choose the one with the lens that suits you better.

*Note that Canon delivers the best dSLRs for professional use at the moment. Nikon and Olympus haven't played their "big card" yet.

  7. I am a Nikon user and stand by it. It offers good, easy to use, reliable and cheap cameras. At present I am using a Nikon D80 which I bought last year. It is a very good camera and i am impressed by the results. I hope you would take this model into consideration while researching for which camera to buy. Do have a browse through the link attached below.
