i herd that the petrol have gone to 8 dollars a litre is this true i herd that somewhere on the news last night on channel 7 or did i just get the wron idea??

No it's not going up to $8 per litre.  That's just a report which predicts that within 10 years petrol will be $8 per litre.  Anything can happen in that time.

This is media hype..they are predicting in the years to come that this will be the price standard..this is just to allay the frustrations of people who NOW have to pay $AUD 1-60+ @ Litre..and to pretend that fossil fuels are totally essential to  our way of Life..No this is not true..the transport system is one of the worst in the world..NOT hype.. and the toll-ways are too expensive,polluted and underused...This is why there is so much traffic congestion in the CBD..No wonder the former Premier Bob Carr retired..crafty little bludgers..Great Superannuation packages available here..from fish 'n' chip shop owners promoting racism to an ex-Premier's wife who had a great recipe for pumpkin scones to walk-ins from civil service officials who made the Sydney2000 Olympics run sucessfully..Anyway,Buck-Sixty a Litre..if you are talking per gallon..600ml to the pint..8 pints to the gallon=$7.28(whew!) @Gallon..Nah,you got the wrong idea,brother..in the USA..that's probably...??? If you live here..feel sorry for the people who live in rural areas where the nearest shop is 20 Kms away...If you don't,bring your money and your patience with you. The Pope is playing Sydney's Randwick Racecourse with an estimated crowd of 400,000+ expected initially...I can't see that now.
