Question:

This is for people who live or lived in chicago?

i'm writting a novel and this all takes place in chicago, illinois. since i live in rural ohio i was wondering if you could tell me what people like to do or how they dress or what they care about etc. for example, new jersey is known for it's short tempers and swearing. as much as you can give me would be great!

  1. I'd say they're really friendly for the most part (not really known for short tempers at all, although we are aggressive drivers!).  We love our sports teams, and we love festivals in the summer... we pride ourselves on our pizza and our hot dogs.  There's also a great sense of history from back in the prohibition days.

    Really the only way you can go wrong here is to put ketchup on your hot dog, to park in a space someone else already dug out of the snow, and to slow down for a yellow light.

Chicago is known for its loyal Cubs fans, Bears fans, White Sox, deep dish pizza, the EL train (elevated train), Navy Pier,  Millenium Park, Taste of Chicago, Chicago Air Show, Chicago Auto Show,  people dress pretty casually, nothing too fancy except for the guys who work @ the Board of Trade
