Has anyone had these teenagers come to your door trying to get money for some fundraiser? They always have these plastic tubs and they come sometimes as late as 9:30 at night. I just moved to Avondale and so far i have had 4 of these kids show up at my door asking for money pretty late at night. I can't help but get angry at these kids but i am almost sure it's a scam. Is this a known issue around this area that i don't know anything about? I don't want to call the police if these kids are legitimate but they are pretty annoying. Every time they come i tell them no and to tell the rest of them to leave my door alone.

  1. Call the police and see if it's legit.

For any "student" that comes to your day, say you do not give money to solicitors who come to your door, under *any* circumstances, and if they want a donation, they need to give you the name of their school, and you will follow-up yourself. Even if the fundraiser is for some youth group, the school should be made aware that their students are out as late as 9:30 at night soliciting funds (*not* appropriate). If they are hesitant to give you the name of their school, then it's a scam.

  2. LOL you think THATS bad?

you should come to NY and see how they do the same thing on trains, walking through crowded a$$ train cars talking loudly and bothering people to buy their m@m candy bars n stuff to support  their basketball team..

    LOL! scams all the way

  3. d**n! The Aliens are at it again. Using innocent kids to scam for coin!

  4. It most likely is a scam. call the police just to be on the safe side, and to prevent others from being hurt by it.

  5. Hey, Glendale, AZ here. Get a sign that says "No trespassing". That way, even if they are legitimate, you can call the cops anyway. Trust me, you want to get agressive about this. Tell them to go away and never come back.

As for whether they are legit, you haven't given me any specific information. Who do they say they are fundraising for? Because I know some that are legit, but once in a while, you'll run into stupid mexican kids that try to rip you off.

  6. It's legit. Sometimes their after school activities don't get out until late, especially if they're involved in sports. It's always best to find out what group they are representing, and call that group just to verify. Ask them to return the next day at a reasonable hour. If they come back, odds are it's good. *waves to you from Scottsdale*
