I have an original 1934 St. Louis Cardinals World Championship picture in the original frame and everything. I was wondering how much something like that would go for?

  1. Buzz, your arguments are as pointless as 1934 Cardinals' memorabilia. You can get all metaphysical and ask why does anything have any value? In that sense the answer is nothing has any value, but almost everything has a price. All these items don't mean anything but they do symbolize something - a bygone era, childhood memories, a sense of community amongst Cardinals fans. To humans, symbols have far more meaning than the actual items and that's what people will pay for.

The 1934 Cardinals are desirable for many collectors, it's a famous team in the history of baseball with some of baseball's great characters.

I can't give you a price, but in the day and age when pictures of almost anything can be downloaded, the pictures value will have greatly diminished - to the point where the frame might be worth more as an antique than the picture.

I suggest looking on ebay for similar items to see what they are selling for. It will also be important to prove the age and authenticity of the item and if there is some sort of tie-in to the team, or story or signature that will also increase the value.

And finally, Chris has a point - it may be worth more a family heirloom.

  2. I'm with Buzz on this one. And why does everyone on this site with something they consider valuable always want to sell it. Be a true fan and display your memorabilia proudly and stop looking for a quick buck. Has anyone ever heard of passing down things through generations?

  3. What is it with you people who think anything that has to do with baseball is worth something?

It's a picture in a frame. It's not worth anything.

PS, I don't know what's worse, these repititous questions or the idiot who answers them all with "whatever someone is willing to pay" as if the person asking the question was going "gee, I thought it was "more than someone is willing to pay," thanks for clearing that up!

PSS. Chill, why am I an idiot? Because I don't give a completely pointless answer? You can't honestly thing "whatever someone is willing to pay" actually helps the guy out? It's the most pointless, stupid answer I've seen since I've been on YA. Seriously, are you being serious when you give it or do you do it to be a d*ck?
